Description
This is an odd one! Is it a bin, or a storage container, even a picnic basket, or was it designed for use by knitters?
It is 26cms tall and 28cms in diameter with two handles covered in leather to make them more comfortable to carry. The hinged lid has a hole in which is about 8cms in diameter.
This beautiful item was made by hand by a group of weavers in Bolgatanga, Northern Ghana.
The grasses used to weave it item grow wild and are gathered, prepared and naturally dyed by members of the group, ready to be woven into a unique, biodegradable piece.
